Gopal Sehjpal started his
career in 1962 with KODAK (India). Starting with office management,
he rose through the ranks to sales to institutional sales to administration
to branch management and then to specialized products' sales. In 1982,
he moved into a field that he holds dearest to his heart. He was assigned
in charge of Personnel management - an all India position -
Mr. Sehjpal highlights this period with three wage-settlements with
the union, handling of key HRD functions like Salary and Benefits
Surveys, Performance Appraisals, Performance Related Pay Systems,
Training and Campus Recruitment.
As a result of his work experience which involved cross-functional
responsibilities, he was given the charge of the Consumer Services
Division at Mumbai. Mr. Sehjpal, to his credit, not only pulled
this loss making unit out of the red but actually turned it around
to be
a contributor to the company's profits.
During his 32 years with KODAK (India), Mr. Sehjpal also acquired
a lot of international exposure. He was trained in the USA (Rochester,
NY), Singapore, Bangkok and Dubai. His presentations at international
conferences at Singapore, Bangkok and Dubai on the subjects of
Communication and Performance Related Pay System, are talked about
till date.
Currently he heads Oracle Management Services as Managing Director.
Founded in 1994, this consultancy is based in Mumbai and is giving
highly successful quality services to a range of prestigious clients.
Based on his experience in the area of compensation packages,
Mr. Sehjpal has and is also currently guiding many medium sized companies
to restructures their pay packages. Handling a range of training assignments,
Mr. Sehjpal has made his mark in a lot of corporates, multinationals,
and even the defense colleges. He, on invitation, has even conducted
seminars at Dhaka in Bangladesh.
Academically strong and successful with a very prestigious career,
Mr. Sehjpal is also amongst the visiting faculty in some of
the well known management schools in the country, Narsee Monjee Institute
of Management Studies being one of the most prestigious one.
As consultant and trainer, Mr. Sehjpal is a member of the Institute
of Management Consultants of India (Hon. General Secretary - Mumbai
Chapter), National Institute of Personnel Management, Bombay Management
Association and National Council for Quality Management. He has made
presentations at these prestigious institutions on subjects like Empowerment
and Benchmarking.
Armed with a very sharp understanding of motivational behavior
and psychology, Mr. Sehjpal is assisting scores of clients in
various consulting projects, right from strategy to launch and mplementation,
thus helping professionals to optimize their productivity and personal
growth.
